Where there's a will...

So, I thought the traffic was fun then but I have slowly, but surely come to realize how sad it is. Anyway, we did not allow that deter our 'hustling' spirit, or better say our 'diva' spirit (according to Beyonce's definition). My business partner and I found ourselves hitting the road at early hours of the morning and coming back late at night after 'gathering' our merchandise. We would take these items for sale to offices and we did not believe we had any obstacles. Boy, did we achieve a lot!

During one of those trips to the market, we stumbled (literally) to the section where beads are sold and guess what, we found ourselves buying beads to string without having the slightest idea of what to do with them! We would stylishly ask our beads seller what some of the instruments were used for (with effizy of course, as if we just wanted to compare notes, lol), luckily for us, he would give us tips...:)

We got home, pulled some trial and error stunts and came up with different designs. That same evening, we came up with 3 or 4 sets for sale and immediately started marketing our products! Yaay!!! We sold the first two and got some promises, but we were really encouraged by the feedback( to think that we did not get any formal training in this). We were so excited!

Recalling this experience reminds me that God has given each of us gifts/talents. He has equipped us with tools we need to survive. We just need to be diligent enough to discover our various abilities and utilize them.

"The gifts God gives us are like little seeds planted inside us, but for them to grow we have to use them. This means that if you can’t identify which “Gift Seeds” God has given you, try doing new things that interest you. Through these new experiences, God will reveal more to you about who you are and how He has called you to serve Him."
Luke 19:11-27; Matthew 25: 14-30

I'll end this with one of my favorite thoughts..."where there's a will, there's a way!"

The Genesis

Being able to multiply funds available to me has always been fun since I became conscious of myself. I always had this unquenchable knack for being able to use my hands (literally) to make money...

So how did this 'self discovered' skill start....

Here I was, out of school and not ready (at all) to go back to mommy (I mean, I just couldn't!) and so I embarked on an adventurous trip to Lagos, not having any concrete plans, but knowing that I intended to survive on my own (OMO...Lol) and I was determined not to end up counting bridges (Lol). Luckily for me, I had a close buddy who boarded the..., ermm, one minute please, a colleague needs my attention. BRB. OK, (Sorry for the break in transmission), so my close friend boards the the train of adventure and we begin to try to make things happen (Well in real life she's the Queen of the Bold and Adventurous).

First, we try out the blue collar thingy (or is it white collar???) to 'gain a little experience' .We create our CV's and start hitting the streets. Well, that didn't pay off. Boy was I glad! So, we took this as a challenge and became more creative.

On the top of our creativity list was buying and selling anything and everything...lol. We found ourselves making trips to the famous Balogun market, Idumota and the likes. Like the distance wasn't bad enough, the traffic was just out of this world. Like nothing I have ever experienced and funny enough, I loved it at the time (At the time o! 'cos now I know better)...
